  • What a Day at Queen's Park! On May 3rd, various MPPs met with athletes and their families from across the Province. This awareness day was very successful, allowing MPPs to find out more about the opportunities that our athletes have through Special Olympics, in their ridings and beyond.   • Thank you for hosting, Kapuskasing! (please click on the title to be taken to full post with image) SOO-Kapuskasing hosted swimmers from the North East in their recent swim meet. It was a great opportunity to meet with other athletes and show of skills worked on all winter, and for those athletes heading to Guelph for Provincial Spring Games to have a competition experience before the event.   • Spread the Word to End the Word: Temiskaming South (click on the title for full post with video link) Spread the Word to End the Word day was on March 2. The Spread the Word to End the Word committee of Temiskaming South planned a number of activities for this day: our local high school was involved with an awareness day, the Towns of Latchford and Cobalt, Township of Colemen and the City of Temiskaming Shores all declared March 2 at Spread the Word to End the Word day, the local newspaper had a colouring contest for children and promoted the day for a month leading to the event.
