On Thursday April 25, 2013 Ashleigh Quarrell received the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award in Ottawa at a ceremony held at Rideau Hall. She received this award for her sustained commitment to volunteerism. The award recognizes individuals who volunteer their time to help others and to build a smarter and more caring nation. The award also highlights the fine example set by these volunteers, whose compassion and engagement are so much a part of our Canadian character.

Ashleigh is the Public Relations and Communications Coordinator for SOO- Thunder Bay and has been a tremendous asset in raising awareness of the Special Olympics movement,

Congratulations Ashleigh on the well deserved honour.
