(click on the title for full post with video link) Spread the Word to End the Word day was on March 2. The Spread the Word to End the Word committee of Temiskaming South planned a number of activities for this day: our local high school was involved with an awareness day, the Towns of Latchford and Cobalt, Township of Colemen and the City of Temiskaming Shores all declared March 2 at Spread the Word to End the Word day, the local newspaper had a colouring contest for children and promoted the day for a month leading to the event. The committee also embarked on a bilingual awaress campaign: Spread the Word to End the word:  Utliser le bon mot: RESPECT. Our local radio station interviewed the committee,  self advocates were also in the community promoting the event (local coffee shop, local swim club).

Local MPP, John Vanthoff also endorsed his support and raised the awareness day in the provincial legislature this week, referencing Special Olympics. Check out the link!
